BECOME A CHORISTER!

Choristers join Westminster Cathedral Choir School from Year 4 (age 8) to Year 8 (age 13).

AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR A FUN-LOVING, MUSICAL BOY
  • Is your son fun-loving and musical?
  • Is he coming up to his seventh or eight birthday?
  • Would you like him to attend one of London’s top academic prep schools at a greatly reduced cost?
  • Are you a generous family, with a sense of humour and a love of beautiful music?
Then consider chorister opportunities at WCCS.

A CONTINENTAL SOUND

The choir’s sound is unique amongst English Cathedrals: often described as ‘bright’ and ‘continental’. As well as singing in Westminster Cathedral, the Choir performs concerts and broadcasts, records and tours internationally.
AN EDUCATION AT ONE OF LONDON’S TOP PREP SCHOOLS
WCCS choristers receive a top academic education from eight to thirteen (Years 4 to 8), at a greatly reduced cost.
Financial assistance is available from the Choir Schools' Association, and from the School, on a means-tested basis. For more information, please contact the Bursar, Mrs Joanna Stephens

PROGRESSION TO BRITAIN’S LEADING PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Almost all our choristers go on to achieve major music scholarships at Britain’s leading public schools. See our leavers’ destinations for the past five years here.
ADMISSIONS AT 8+
Boys normally join in Year 4, aged 8 years, and are known as ‘probs’, or probationers, for their first year. Admission follows informal and formal voice trials and academic and pastoral assessments. The School offers up to six probationer places each year.

The choristers’ schedule is currently variable because of the COVID-19 restrictions. From the Trinity (summer) term 2021 – COVID-19 restrictions allowing – boys will board at the School during the week, going home to their families from Friday evening at 6.30 pm, until 9.45 am on Sunday morning. (Boys in Years 4 & 5 go home a little earlier on Fridays – either after School at 3.50 pm, or after prep (homework) at 5.00 pm.)

FEES

Fees, payable termly and in advance, for the academic year 2020/21 are: £3,362 (per term).
